Wolfgang van Loeper from Wedderwill Estate on Bio-Dynamic Wine Farming…

If you remember a while back, Real Time Wine visited Wedderwill (nice farm, cool story, great wines, some a little expensive). There we got to chat with Wolfgang, the GM about bio-dynamic wine farming (and some things about organic wine farming that disturbed us a little). Cool little interview here…

On the Farm: Kingsriver Estate

Came to harvest my Adopt-a-Vine project and see it go through the grape press. The farm is in a beautiful area, and I highly recommend their make-your-own wine project. Value for money is unbeatable. Ruud, the owner is a wonderful guy to talk to while you’re slaving away in the vineyards. The farm staff watch, amused. Unfortunately, even though the meat was wonderful, the set menu was woefully over priced (R200 or braai meat and sorbet essentially). Farm staff were friendly and wonderful, restaurant staff clueless. Young wines, but try their Mzansi Range and the Kingsriver Shiraz.
